About Your Physio

Practice owner, Physiotherapist, and Qualified Pilates Matwork instructor, Ken Mark Kabongo, graduated from the University of Cape Town (UCT). Ken is also a Neuromuscularskeletal  Clinical Educator in the Physiotherapy Department of the University of Cape Town. 

 

After completing his community service year in Johannesburg, Ken decided to further his studies and has completed a Master of Science (MSc) in Sports & Exercise Physiotherapy at UCT. Other notable post-graduate courses include Dry needling level 1 & 2, Clinical Pilates level 1 &2, Advanced taping & return to sport, Management of chronic pain, World Rugby Intermediate Care in Rugby Level 3, Tackling concussion head-on ‘The role of a physiotherapist’ and FIFA Diploma in Football Medicine.

 

Ken historically has a special interest in exercise and sports physiotherapy and has extensive experience working in a professional sporting environment. Ken has worked for multiple professional teams within South Africa which includes: Springbok 7's (Blitzbokke), SA Schools Rugby, SA U20 Rugby, SA Rugby Academy, Ajax Cape Town, Boland Kavaliers, England Rugby Union, and Singapore Indoor Masters Cricket team. Ken is a proud winner of the prestigious 2020 Top 200 Mail & Guardian Young South African.

Through the years, Ken has made his clients understand that there is a connection between the mind and the body, and for this reason, he treats his patients with a holistic approach to get the best possible results.

 

Ken enjoys competing in triathlons, living a healthy lifestyle, exploring the outdoors when not on the sports field or in his private practice, and lastly Ken has recently represented South Africa at the World Duathlon Championships as an athlete in 2022 & 2023. Ken is also the South African Sprint Duathlon Champion.
